CCEL’s Evening English courses are for people who want to improve their all-round English skills and learn how to communicate effectively. CCEL offers Evening English to students from levels pre-intermediate to advanced. Evening English courses include, speaking, listening, reading and writing lessons and vocabulary and grammar development. Courses are intensive, have regular testing and a focus on student progress.

Evening English is available at intermediate level (full-time or part-time) for students 18 years or older.

2-50 weeks

Hours per week

Full time - 20 hours per week (Mon - Fri 5:00pm - 9:30pm) / part time - 15 hours per week (Mon - Fri 5:00pm - 8:20pm)

Levels available

Intermediate to Advanced. Evening English is only available for students 18 years+.

Course fees

2 - 11 weeks: $360 per week full time, $312 per week part time | 12+ weeks: $338 per week full time, $312 per week part time

Minimum entry levels apply. Placement in GE Evening classes will depend on level assessment. A pre-entry test can be taken overseas before arriving in New Zealand.


Assessment is continuous throughout the course. CCEL students are tested every 5 weeks and receive individual progress reports.
